Typical use and limits

Platinum-13 % rhodium against platinum, for high temperatures up to about 1600 °C in furnaces, glass production and reference work. The output is low, about 10 to 14 µV/°C over most of the range, so the measuring electronics and the cold junction must be good. Protect the wire from metal vapours and reducing atmospheres with ceramic tubes.
