What SensorCatalog is

SensorCatalog is a free set of engineering calculators and reference data for sensors and process instrumentation: 4–20 mA loops, RTDs, thermocouples, NTC thermistors, load cells, pressure transmitters and process connection threads. It is made for instrumentation, maintenance and design engineers and for technicians who need a correct number quickly, on a desk or on site.

How the calculators are built

  • Published standards only. Platinum RTDs follow IEC 60751, thermocouples the NIST ITS-90 reference functions adopted in IEC 60584-1, signal states NAMUR NE 43, threads ISO 228-1, ISO 7-1, ASME B1.20.1, ISO 261, SAE J1926-1 and DIN 40430.
  • Checked against reference values. Every calculator is tested against published table values and worked examples before it goes online; the tests run on every change.
  • Both directions agree. Where a calculator converts both ways, the reverse calculation inverts the same equation instead of using a separate approximation.
  • Transparent. Each tool shows its formulas and references, and the guides explain the method and the common mistakes.

Results are engineering estimates. For critical decisions, confirm values against the sensor datasheet, the calibration certificate or the standard itself.

Independence and advertising

Calculation results never depend on a product, sponsor or partner. The buttons below the calculators lead to SensorSpan for sensor inquiries; when you follow them, the link carries the technical parameters of your calculation (no personal data) so the inquiry starts pre-filled. If sponsored content or advertising is shown in the future, it will be labelled and kept separate from the results, as described in the privacy policy and terms of use.
