Calculator link format

Open any calculator with your values already filled in. Put the link on a datasheet, a product page, an application note or a work instruction: one click, and the engineer sees the calculation for your part, checked against the standards.

Rules

A link is the calculator's address with parameters: https://sensorcatalog.com/tools/<calculator>/?<parameter>=<value>&…. For example, the NTC divider for a 10 kΩ, B = 3435 K thermistor:

https://sensorcatalog.com/tools/ntc-voltage-divider-calculator/?r0=10000&b=3435

  • Numbers use a dot as the decimal separator, with no thousands separators and no unit: r0=10000, not r0=10k or r0=10,000. The unit is the one listed for the parameter.
  • Temperatures are always in °C, whatever unit the visitor has chosen; the calculator converts them for display.
  • Choices take one of the listed values exactly, e.g. r0=1000 for a PT1000 in the PT100 calculator.
  • Parameters you leave out take the default listed below, so the same link always shows the same calculation. Unknown parameters and values outside the list are ignored; that field keeps its default.
  • Two-way calculators (marked ⇄): give one side of the pair, e.g. a temperature or a resistance. The other side is computed.
  • Languages: the same parameters work on every language version, e.g. /de/tools/…, /ja/tools/….
  • Embedding: the same parameters work on /embed/<calculator>/; see embed a calculator.
  • Stability: parameters are never renamed or removed; new ones may be added. Every build of the site checks all 251 parameters against a frozen list, so a link printed in a datasheet today keeps working.
  • Machine-readable: the same tables as JSON at /link-format.json.

Values that are physically impossible are rejected by the calculator, which then shows why. Everything else is calculated as given: check your link once in the browser.
